Diversity, Equity, and Belonging at Chime
We work to build a community of diverse, talented, and mission-driven Chimers to deliver products and services that are transparent and fair.
Why Diversity, Equity, and Belonging matter at Chime
Chime has the unique opportunity to drive financial progress for millions of everyday people through our products and services. Yet, our success is dependent on our ability to build trust across multiple groups:
- Members must trust Chime as a partner along their financial journey
- Candidates must trust Chime as an affirming and thriving workplace
- The public must trust Chime as an ethical and responsible company.
We believe the best way to build trust across all these groups is to embed diversity, equity, and belonging into everything we do at Chime.
About Diversity, Equity, & Belonging at Chime
Creating trustworthy products and experiences for our members requires a unique blend of empathy, talent, and creativity. Therefore, we use a set of principles to guide our approach to fostering DEB throughout the organization. We include diverse identities and perspectives in our decision-making, engage each other with compassion and empathy, create trust and safety for others to be authentic, structure our policies and processes to ensure fairness and access, and use these principles inside and out of Chime to achieve social impact.
At Chime, ERGs are CRGs
Our Chimer Resource Groups (CRGs) are for groups of Chimers with shared experiences or who would like to be allies to each other. Our CRGs are at the core of our DEB efforts, providing community, support, and education to every Chimer, reminding us that we’re all in this together. CRGs meet regularly, host events, and partner with community organizations to expand their impact beyond our team.
Our DEB hiring commitment
We hire candidates of any race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital or family status, disability, Veteran status, and any other status. Chime is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Cook County Ordinance, and consistent with Canadian provincial and federal laws.
In Chimers’ words
Every Chimer contributes to our work of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Hear from a few Chimers who are members of our CRGs.
